#1 Bruce Springsteen - Born to Run
It’s records like this that made me want to start this project. I mean, who hasn’t heard Born to Run? This guy, thats who. Its slightly embarrassing that as a 28 year old man i’ve never heard one of the seminal, “most important” rock records ever recorded, but Springsteen has always been a mystery to me. Being a white male from the suburbs, I feel like it should’ve been engrained in me from a very early age to dig Bruce, but I just never felt that pull to seek out his old records because I never particularly enjoyed what I’d heard. My parents really didn’t like him either. I didn’t “get it”. Well, after one spin through Born to Run, I think I’m starting to get it. A minute into Backstreets, I was hooked. I’d just written him off for so many years, I’m already kicking myself. But better late than never. Right? A chronological trip through his catalogue is already in the works.
